
Thermal and IR imaging
Thermal finds what the eye cannot. Trapped moisture in a roof assembly, a failed seal on an elevation, a hot connection on a service, a dead string in an array. All of it shows up as temperature before it shows up as damage.
Temperature is evidence.
We fly a Zenmuse H30T, which gives radiometric thermal alongside visible imagery on the same airframe and the same pass. That matters because a thermal anomaly you cannot locate on the building is not actionable, and a visible image without the thermal is just a photo.
Timing is most of the craft. Roof moisture surveys work on the thermal differential after sunset. Envelope work depends on the delta between inside and outside. We plan the window rather than flying whenever the calendar happens to be open.

How thermal work gets planned
Pick the window, not the day
Roof moisture needs the post sunset differential. Envelope work needs a temperature delta across the wall. Solar needs irradiance and a clear sky. The flight time is set by physics, not convenience.
Fly visible and thermal together
Same airframe, same pass. Every anomaly can be located on a real image of the building rather than described in a paragraph.
Interpret against context
Wet insulation, a standing puddle and a dark parapet all read warm. Knowing the assembly and the conditions is what separates a finding from a false positive.
Document for the next conversation
Marked exhibits and a findings summary that a board, an adjuster or a roofer can act on without needing to interpret raw thermal for themselves.
